You have omitted the option. I'm going to eat all the Stollen and save Nutek from himself.

I should have guessed it was cake!

Looks like the same crap the Italians mistake for fruit cake. I'd trade a whole tractor-trailer load of that stuff for a single, proper British Christmas cake-style fruit cake.

Exactly! No one could possibly want it.

That's why you all are lucky to have me to take care of it for you.

What a fine fellow that Nutek is.

I am always willing to try new food. So pass a slice (or several) over here.

Talk like that could seriously impair the influx of Stollen and spoil the outcome of my genius plan. :frown:

No need for research. Let me carry that burden and dispose of that unfamiliar item for you.

Aldi usually sells a tolerable version of stollen.

Oh no it's nothing like Panettone, that dry old stuff. Stollen is delicious, especially if it has marzipan in it. Aldi do a good version and World Market have a really good one. I love British fruit cake too, my sister brought over one she made in September that I've been "seasoning" for a few weeks.

OK, you've persuaded me. I will grab as much as I can before Nutek gets his paws on it all. :sneaky:

So far, this has not gone quite the way I had hoped.

Still, I am sure my good intentions will win the day.

This has raisins in, right? I don't like raisins, so Nutek is welcome to it

Yes.. Horrid hate berries.

Option 2 ..

Ok.. this is looking more like it.

Re: Stollen

We get ours from Aldi, it seems fine to us. For Pulaski's edification, it is a much more solid and satisfying affair than the Italian confection, and the one with the marzipan inside is definitely the way to go.

I bought one a couple of weeks ago but steveq couldn't resist starting it and it was consumed in short order, leaving none for Nutek. More trips to Aldi are definitely called for between now and Christmas.

Yes, I chose option 2, you are welcome to all the raisins you can handle.

Except chocolate covered ones, for some reason I like them.

Steveq has good taste but clearly needs someone helpful to selflessly help him with dispersal of calories.

You can get the one with poppy seeds instead.

Instead of raisins? You jest. Like swapping Christmas stuffing for a stick of celery.

You can't interfere with stollen- glace cherries are verboten.
dried fruit, marzipan, tons of stodge sprinkled with icing sugar, there will always be left overs 😂

It's NOT cake! Cake is good. Stollen is not good. It makes Panettone look like the food of the gods. Which it isn't. But it is in comparison to stollen.

I find that hard to believe. Panettone is cake made from woodchips, no, sorry, panettone is stale cake made from woodchips.
