Why not get the insurance money and also get rid of the car? The "take the money and run" approach. That's what I did several years ago after being hit by a semi. Took the check, dumped the car (ins. co. didn't want to total it, I didn't want to repair it) and bought a new one. Good luck.

Glad you're OK, anabella. Sorry that this happened.

Sorry to hear about the insurance situation.
Looks like the left front and rear quarter panels replaced, wing mirror, and windshield, plus a new paint job. And that's if nothing under the bonnet broke.
I'm don't know whether a deer collision would be covered under a liability only policy (even with uninsured motorist coverage -- a deer isn't driving). Raises a good point; I wonder if there's such a thing as coverage for hail/deer/vandalism that can be added to liability+uninsured if you don't want to carry comprehensive? Texas is still an at-fault state so our choices are antiquated.

Damage appears to be in the range of several thousand dollars, glad to hear that the cargo was not injured. I have friends that travel a lot, they fixed 'deer whistles' to their vehicle to fend off the creatures. Does anyone here have experience with those, seems like a very inexpensive fix.
