Cask Boddies used to be OK back in the days when it was actually brewed at Strangeways by people who cared. It went downhill when they sold out to Shitbread back in 1989 and the 2000 acquisition by Interbrew wouldn't have raised quality. Fast forward to now and Strangeways is long closed, and Boddies is now brewed by the same behemoth that pisses out Budweiser. Kind of sums it all up really. Wouldn't touch it with yours.

I'd settle for a pint of cask-conditioned ESB in a backstreet boozer in Ealing. Unfortunately you can't get that over here.

InBev holds an unhealthy 35% stake in Redhook. Think I'll spend my dollars elsewhere...

Fullers ESB can be had at your local Elephant & Castle, at the least at the one in Downtown Chicago..

That E&C is a right hole if you're on about the one tucked under the EL? I've never felt so cramped in a pub, its like they were trying tooooo hard to make it cozy.

I care. I happen to love beer - so I'm not going to line the pockets of twats who are buying up and closing down breweries the world over just to make a fast buck. We all have fewer choices and lower quality in beer because of InBev. Even if Redhook ESB is otherwise a perfectly drinkable ESB (and it is), there's plenty of competition in the US market from far more deserving breweries owned by passionate people who care about what they are making.

No, Huron & St. Clair. Was nailing a few "Old Speckled Hens" there (yes, I'm still talking Beer Here).
