Someone double check my arithmetic
Hi,
My 90 day window to file our I-751 is less than a week away now. My
AOS was approved on 10/15/03, and thus my card expires on 10/15/05. I
have treble checked and my 90 day window should start on 07/17/05.
That happens to be a sunday and thus I will drop off our application at
our local USPS office on Monday the 18th of July. According to my
arithmetic, that would be 89 days away from 10/15/05. Could someone
double (quadruple actually) my sums.
I am taking Mr. F's advice and only sending in documentation from the
time when AOS was granted to the present month. So 22 "pieces" of
evidence, one for each calender month. The cover letter will explain
to the adjudicataor the method to my madness. We have one mortgage
account, 2 cars, 3 utility bills, two bank accounts and 5 credit cards
all "joint". Add to that annual holidays, tax returns, car
registrations and semi-annual car insurance docs and there will not be
many iterations over the 22 months period for any one kind of "piece of
evidence".
Ant other tips/advice? This will be going to NSC.
Regards,
S K Ghori [email protected] http://www.vex.net/~skg/
**NOTE**
I have lived in nine different countries. Dual Pakistani and Canadian
citizen, 1 year and 1 month away from qualifying to apply for
US citizenship.

Hi skg,
According to my calendar, your calculations look right. Of course, you can always wait another few days to file, just to make sure.
Best Wishes,
Rene

Why? You can mail it a week later if you are uncertain. Getting it there early does not mean you are going to get an approval earlier.
You seem to be find though. I added documentation from all four years (2 plus for us to AOS) and we were not rejected nor was there a complaint about too much documentation submitted.

Rete,
Totally agree. A few days will not really make a difference. However
you say "Getting it there early does not mean you are going to get an
approval earlier". There is typo somewhere? Surely an application
sent on day#1 of the window and one sent on day#85 of the window will
have different "expected" approval dates :) However we are dealing with
USCIS, so I take that back :)
One question I had. If Jim's AOS took 2 plus years, was Jim still
granted CPR only?

I noticed that not everyone are processed at the same timeframe and some
are processed ealier even if they submitted their paperwork later.
I think it might be because case being assigned to specific agent ....
one may do work faster than another. For me it looks like cases are
assigned at the arrival (I might be wrong ... just my impression)

I stopped by the LACBA Immigration Legal Assistance Clinic this afternoon and was chatting with its director and overheard one of the staff people advising on an I-751 and I whisper to Mary: "Why didn't he mention videotapes?" and Mary whispers "The 'X' kind?" and I nod and she says "Stuart, you bad" with a smile.

Re: Someone double check my arithmetic
Took everyone's advice and waited two extra days. Although the
application and all its needed documentation was ready by 07/17, only
today will I (and the wife) be signing it with today's date and
dropping it off at our local USPS branch. Will probably send it via
the "delivery confirmation" and "return receipt required" route. Let
the year long (expected by current processing times) wait begin :)

JEff,
You are good. Yes I was being facetious. I need to be more subtle
next time. I have been on this forum long enough to know what exactly
Rete was trying to relay to me :)
