So much done in the space of a week!

Hello everyone.
I got back to the UK last Wednesday (August 26th).
Everything went well as far as getting the dogs sorted, and when we got here I sent them to a kennel near Gatwick until I could get the accommodation sorted out.
Since I knew I'd be working in Didcot, I focused my search for a place to live around there. Finding a place that would take the dogs was extremely difficult. I ended up getting a very small one-bedroom place in Berinsfield. It's not a particularly beautiful place, but it is surrounded by GORGEOUS countryside and pretty villages. I should get the keys on Friday and start moving in. I will go and get the dogs on Saturday.
I got a car. It cost more than I intended to spend, but my sister helped me out there (loan, not a gift
).
Opened a bank account. HSBC weren't very helpful, but I think I talked to someone who just didn't know better. Lloyds opened an account for me just with the passport.
I start my job on Wednesday next week.
It's all coming together and I'm thrilled to be back. The weather has been wonderful as far as I'm concerned. When I left the temperature was in the 90s in SE Texas. Too hot. While I've been here it's been mild, and a bit of everything -- some sun, some cloud, some rain, fairly breezy.

Congratulations on your move home and on finding a place that would take pets - something we will have to contend with if and when we move back. A dog and 2 cats eeeek!
Keep us updated.

Congratulations on getting everything done. You've been busy! I'll be in your shoes trying to find a place soon that will let me have the dog and both cats. Cats haven't been a problem; the dog will be tougher.
Next up is the car - really nervous about driving here. Did you find it difficult?
Anyway, just wanted to say congratulations for making it safely out of Texas and for getting so much done.

Sarah,
Sounds like everything is going very well for you in such a short amount of time. You seem to have put your nose to the grindstone and got a lot sorted! Well done, enjoy being home
