Default Snow Blower

Do I need to change the fuel that's in my snow blower.

I clean her and start her every month and she starts OK.

So seen as it's a few months until the next Ice age I was wondering if I had to dump the fuel and put new stuff in.

Once a month is fine as long as she runs smoothly. Long periods of non use would cause the carburetor to 'varnish up' if not drained or additive added.

PS. You weren't talking about your wife were you? If so ignore the above.

(That's what I thought but I thought I'd ask on here as I got a 50/50 response from googling)

You're not supposed to use fuel that's older than 1 month old cos it gums up the bits.

I mix in a fuel stabiliser (Sta-bil) with the 2-stroke oil that I put in my leaf-blower and trimmer, and I've had no problems so far. I don't know if it makes any difference, but I don't want to trash $500-worth of garden tools for the sake of $11 of fuel-stabiliser.

That's my two-penneth, anyway.

For the small amount of gas we are considering when in doubt dump it.

Run it dry before putting it away for the summer, then buy new gas in the fall...do not use old gas unless you use Sta-bil.
