Personally, I don't really think he has done all that much to deserve it. Does anybody think he deserves to be Sir? and Victoria to be Lady Beckham??

Re: Sir Beckham?
Let's remember - Ferguson has a knighthood - Becks was an influential player on most of the winning teams Fergie had and he is a better ambassador for the game than Fergie by far.
Personally I don't think either of them should be in contention but I don't think you can argue against Becks getting one given the precedent.
Of course, if we could then make them dress up in a suit if armour (along with Elton John and the rest) and go off to fight for the Queen's honour in Iraq then they'd get my vote straight away!

Rebecca Loo's aside, I think he's been a pretty good ambassador for English football.

Impeccable reasoning.
Cringeworthy wouldn't even come close (referring to the potential of "Sir Beckham", not your reasoning btw).

Actually my point is - because a lot of wankers have been knighted in the past you shouldn't say "Beckham is a wanker so that means he shouldn't be knighted" because it's patently obvious that being a wanker is no barrier to getting knighted. But I really don't give a ***** either way

Re: Sir Beckham?
the whole Knighthoods malarkey is a bloody joke. Knighthoods should be only given to those that bravely fought for the country in the face of adversity. Not balding midget nancy boys with a hairtransplant that knocked out a few tunes over a decade ago FFS.
