Absolutely, after nearly 2 years still love it, it slowed down last year, I got a new battery and its running great again.

It continues to be a source of amusement to all our visitors.

After 2 years I'm with Bradford Lass...the battery is dying. Do I get a new one or replace the battery...decisions....decisions.

It depends on the flooring. Fool that I am, I believed without further consideration, the praise that was heaped on them by certain mod who's name I won't divulge. I was still in my house at the time, hardwood floors and lots of oriental carpets, with fringes, I spent so much time shepherding the thing, untangling fringes, or folding them under before turning the thing loose that it was easier to use the old canister. Now I live in the old folks home, I have wall to wall carpet except for the kitchen and bathroom so it is better, but you still have to move furniture around or there are boundaries of dust around each piece of furniture. Using the cannister or upright I didn't have to move so much furniture.

Mine is brilliant on hardwood floors...I don't have rugs with fringes on them. The only furniture I move is the dining chairs...even then I only pull them out a foot or so.

BTW I always buy goods from stores that I know will accept returns if I'm not happy with the product.

This thing isn't nearly that clever, it wanders around in a spiral until it hits something, then it wanders off at random in straight lines until it hits and changes direction.

I dont have rugs with fringes on them, just messy children and we can pick their crap up off the floor, otherwise the thing will just have to go around it.

I am off to buy mine from Kohls today. Wil report back later. If it turns out to be the biggest pile of poo I have ever spent my money on (& I think that prize is already awarded to "anti wrinkle creams" - I can take it back to Kohls, cos the girls on the Customer Service desk dont give a shit and refund on anything!

When I can't be bothered to get my vacuum cleaner out (eg. if there are some crumbs on the carpet) I just get out the carpet sweeper (one of those things at the end of a pole that you push backwards and forwards).

I bought it from Bed Bath & Beyond and with the 20% discount postcard (which they seem to send once a fortnight) it only cost around $16. It's not as good as the Bissell I had years ago in England but it's fine for a quick clean up.

Got the Roomba yesterday. It spent all night on charge and worked fine on the hard flooring downstairs. Seems to be struggling with the carpetting upstairs, but this might be me asking too much of it with only quick recharges between use. If it turns out not to be so great on carpetting, and I am expecting this, thats fine, i got it for the downstairs hard flooring anyway and so far so good. It will save me time and having to cart the upright up and down stairs as much - not good for my bad back.

Anyone with any recharging tips greatfully welcome. Also, is a docking base worth getting?
