Re: Reusable toilet wipes?
When I was a student nurse I shared a flat in the nurses home for while with a Greek student. Depsite my constant entreaties that flushing toilet paper was the norm in Scotland, she continued to put it in the bin.

Re: Reusable toilet wipes?
i used cloth nappies with my eldest 2 and will again with this baby when she is big enough to fit them! They are towelling outside and soft fleece inside and elasticated like a fitted disposable nappy- a million miles away from old folded terry nappies. I also had washable wipes - ie small squares of towelling to use instead of the chemical impregnanted paper ones. If your washing nappies then baby wipes in the bucket at the same time is no stretch. so if you take it one step further - wipes for the whole family is a natural extension (although ive never been that brave lol). I believe you chose lary colours - so each person in the house uses only their color and because the colours hide the mess so to speak.

Food for thought:
"The tenderness of the delicate American buttock is causing more environmental devastation than the country's love of gas-guzzling cars, fast food or McMansions, according to green campaigners. At fault, they say, is the US public's insistence on extra-soft, quilted and multi-ply products when they use the bathroom.
"This is a product that we use for less than three seconds and the ecological consequences of manufacturing it from trees is enormous," ........"

MsElui,
So how do you wash them? Kitchen sink? Bathroom sink?
BTW, tip of the hat for publicly revealing that you and your family are filthy creatures for the whom the advances in ablutions and sanitation made over the course of the 20th century completely passed you by ...

Compostable wipes, now I could see how that might catch on. (not in my house though)

I used target double rolls. I think they're two-ply.
Remember that wax paper stuff they had at schools? All it did was just smear stuff around. Okay, I'll stop now.
A question for you: did you ever stand up when cleaning up? I used to. Made things easier.
