I know a lot has been posted about resumes, and I have searched the forums and read up and got some useful pointers - so thanks to all those who have posted in the past.

However, I am still unsure what to do about my GSCEs and A Levels - and how to display these. There doesnt seem to be any logical way to relate these to US qualifications - so I just wondered what others do?

You don't. Just put your university/college and degree on there.

I've read in several places that O levels / GCSEs can be considered as roughly the same as a high school diploma, and A levels an associates degrees - so on my resume I put GCSE (same as US high school diploma) and A levels (equivalent to US Associates Degree). I read somewhere that you shouldn't put "equivalent to high school diploma, as that could be equated with the GED which isn't regarded as highly in some cases)

You should place only actually college/university degrees on your resume. High school can be listed if that is the only formal education you have.

US employers will not know what A levels and unless they are courses you have taken at a university will assume (probably likely) that you took advanced classes in high school which are not the equivalent of an associate degree is a degree given by a college for completion of a two year course of study ending in a graduation and sheepskin.

which is what an A level is, advanced level, that you either do at a schools sixth form, or at a CFE, college of further education, the equivalent to a community college...it's a two year course.

Gets complicated if you did AS levels but as for GCSE's, I wouldn't bother list them, I don't think people bother with those in the UK either if they've got A levels and a uni degree...
