Though was it our state
that was fighting against documentation proving who you are (ie driving license) when you go and vote(even though you could obtain them for free) - reason given making another obstacle for people to vote !!!So I could go and vote illegally
(and no I'm sorry no links as I can't remember where it was!)Why the US voting system can't be the same as the UK's with stringent security checking you are who you are, and easy to understand ballots with no hanging chad's

So yes I am jealous of you being back in the more 'advanced' country when it comes to voting

)I like the sound of that.

Ahhh another one who dreams the dream.
Why in heaven's name would anyone want to vote into the highest office someone who is untried, too young, inexperienced, tongue-tied and amaterish (among the nicer things I can say about him). Based on the platform that he wants universal healthcare? Hope you don't think the US is going to fund healthcare for the universe. Would be nice to have country-wide healthcare for all US Citizens, however. But bear in mind, that the commander-in-chief has only the power to sign or reject such a proposal IF it gets through the house and senate. Now there are the votes you should really be concerned with.

Yes, I dream. I was listening to NPR's documentary on the fight for desegregation today as I drove home from work. Had me in tears that people could be so... unspeakable, and unspeakably dumb. And so recently.
I'm a swinger too. I swing between hope and despair...

WONDERFUL SHOW!
Frankly, I find him scary, not Osama.......he will not get in for a few reasons, one being that he's black, yes I know, but threaten the crackers with a black prez or Billiary and they'll have everyone including exhuming their great grandma to go and vote.
Sad to say, but it he reality in most parts of this country.

Please, Scarlett, tell me that is not the reason why you would vote for him. A book? What was written in a book? How do you know it was written by him? How do you know what is in it is not all hype to get the public's attention for just this purpose. Books are fictional. We don't know what he thinks, feels, believes, can do, can't do. He hasn't been tried and his feet are still wet.
Please rethink this.

Aren't they ALL untried? Shoot, we had one that we'd tried and that didn't seem to get him not elected, or ensure that he did a good job.
Of course, I'm the gal who thought Ross Perot had a good idea the first time round too....

I hate Hilary, Obama's a joke (no experience and is been given a free ride by the press - no hard interview yet)
John McCain I like but is too old, and I don't like the others in the Republican race (either too Political ie don't trust them, or never heard of them)
Also I think we need someone strong to beat Hilary (I did say I hated her?

IMO, lack of experience is a boon. The less time spent in DC, the less chance they've had of painting you with Capitol Hill's Sleaz-o (tm).
