Indeed. It's skin for me. I have eczema and I can feel it as soon as I get out of a chlorine pool (it depends on how much chlorine is in there to be fair though). It's significantly better with a saltwater pool.

I do want saltwater so am going to have to think about the coping carefully. I'll see what the guy who is coming round today says.
Brother in law didn't put coping in - they just had their sundeck run up and over into the pool. Makes it non-slip for the kids (although we've got travertine coping, and that's not been slippy), plus saves on the cost, but did look a bit odd.

Salt is considered better by most because its nicer on the skin.
Initially I wanted salt but was talked out of it by a friend in the business.

Chlorine at a safe level does not irritate your eyes. Its the Low pH water that causes skin and eye irritation, making the eyes look red.

The pool company has since goine out of business as many did when the property bubble burst. Maybe that is why the surviving pool builders can charge so much.

Wow - that looks beautiful.. We are 4 weeks into our pool build and it is so exciting seeing it coming together. We have already upgraded the pebbletec colour, more concrete and another electrical socket - the project just keeps growing..

Our hot tub is slightly raised from the pool - how does it work when they are on the same level - won't the warm water from the spa flow in to the pool?

Thanks! we really like it. Our spar is raised 6" it just isn't clear from the picture as it has an infinity or negative edge.

Good luck with your pool build! I have a feeling ours may grow too...

Bink that looks amazing. I love the rock going into the pool at the water line. I couldn't do that in Arizona, the water is too hard and I'd be fighting a hard water (calcium build up) water line.

Just a suggestion for you, if you don't mind. I would not have that circular raised section around the fire pit. My experience of fire pits is that they are welcoming if you can just pull up a chair. Not lift one up a step and worry about falling off once you're up. Plus you could put loungers around the fire pit too if there was no raised section.

I think with that design I would just live by the pool and rent out the house

Like I said very basic. Builders special 1996 and upgraded tile and pebbletec surface in 2004.

We used to have white plaster but added new tile and the pebble tec finish.

What reason/s did your friend give for not going with salt?

Thanks, we'd already decided this ourselves for exactly the reasons you describe!! I think the spa is going to move there though.

Living by the pool is the idea!
