never heard of it before... but a bit sad as well ...
And the fact with less than 40 cases in the US ..no money will ever be spent on it ...

There was a fascinating BBC documentary on the condition, though I think all of the cases were in the US. Probably what you saw.... there were two affected kids in a family, where the brother had died about a year before the documentary, and his sister survived; and one who has made it pretty far into adulthood and is leading a relatively functional life.
It's a very moving documentary.

I've watched some of the episodes of the show Little People, Big World and one of the twins' on the show's friends (btw, the twins, one is "normal sized, the other is a little person) has this condition.

I saw this in the uk a while ago. There is a fantastic american photographer that has taken some amazing pictures of these kids to show their love of life. They are amazing pictures - if you want to look they are under dwarfism at http://www.garyparker.com/portfolio.html
