Podcasts you listen too
Answer me this is back on and I'm enjoying it again. Has anyone listened to the allusionist or modern mann show? I recommend the allusionist for anyone interested in language. Shame I can't type properly, I know too should be to.

I like...
No Such Thing As A Fish - it's the QI elves with interesting and amusing facts.
International Waters - a quiz which is mostly US v UK.
Liar City - an examination of liars and cheats in societal history.
..to name but a few.
As I'm unemployed and not traveling much at the moment, I'm waaaaay behind on all of them!

A few of my favorites:
Comedy Bang! Bang! - surreal comedy from some of the more famous comedians in the world. Also a TV show. Indescribable and sometimes very inside. Multi-year running jokes often feature.
WTF with Marc Maron - very famous interview podcast. Good stuff. Maron is an excitable and slightly garrulous guy but he asks the right questions and you feel like you really get to know the person being interviewed.
The Projection Room - in depth and non-pretentious dissection of famous movies. Some episodes are 4+ hours long but they never flag. I just listened to the 5 hour episode on the original "Get Carter". It was great.
Planet Money- brief episodes on economics. NPR. Entertaining if a bit obvious some times.
The Inquiry - half hour in-depth reporting on a specific news story from the BBC. Great for understanding a bit more about current events. Lots of experts who actually know what they're talking about are consulted.
The Columbo Podcast - two genial Glaswegians rigorously cover every single episode of the greatest TV show in history (slight hyperbole here). Very relaxing and entertaining if you're a Columbo fan (and if you're not, we have nothing further to say to one another).
You Must Remember This - fascinating recounting of some of the best true stories from the history of Hollywood. Multiple episode arcs cover get very in depth on some incredible stories. Check out their recent coverage of "Charlie Manson's Hollywood".
The Telegraph Cycling Podcast - English podcast about cycling. The best sports podcast I've heard. Very insightful (if slightly overly British cycling focused) and lots of running jokes.
A Cast of Kings - two journalists covering Game of Thrones in depth. One journalist is an "expert", the other is a "novice". This helps the show avoid getting too nerdy.

One that my son introduce me too is Simon Mayo's Confessions. Always fun to listen to. (A segment of Drivetime, which I've never actually listened too..)

Chris Moyles on X FM (I'll wait for the torrent of abuse for admitting to that).

Podcasts I regularly listen to:
- The Bugle - satire with Andy Zaltzman and (formerly John Oliver) rotating hosts for the time being.
- The Moth - people sharing entertaining true stories.
- Real Time with Bill Maher - if you know Bill Maher, you know what this is about.
- The Documentary - from the BBC World Service, as you might imagine an interesting documentary in podcast format.

New Yorker Radio Hour.
For instance; New Yorker published a fascinating and informative long article a few months ago by David Remnick documenting a visit with Leonard Cohen this summer. Last Friday, the podcast was part of the interview and general conversation with LC.

We listen to a couple of them on this list. All family-friendly/kid-focused.
I particularly like Brains On.
