Fair amount of delays and diversions on 11/23 in San Diego due to fog and low visibility with the airport below minimums a few times. Pretty much happens on an annual basis around end of Nov and into early December for a bit.

Luckily it's not often this airport has weather issues.

The situation in and around Syria has just got a teenie bit more complicated. I guess my enemy's enemy isn't always my friend.

That particular aspect can hardly have come as a surprise to anyone. That was never going to go well.

Russia is a friend of Assad and is mainly bombing a variety of moderate rebels with the odd stray bomb accidentally hitting daesh to make it look kosher.

Turkey hates Assad but tends to hate Kurds more so has been encouraging daesh to attack the Kurds.

The Kurds hate most people but have been one of the few local groups relatively successful against daesh with their peshmerga fight well against them with US support.

The moderate rebels hate Assad but are not one cohesive group and have their own tribal alliances.

Iran hares...

Etc etc etc

The arabs, and others in the Middle East, have been fighting each other for over 3,000 years. Only a fool would suggest it is likely to stop in anyone's (who's alive today) life time.

An interesting article about the history and future of the B52's. Apparently a USAAF pilot who qualifies as a pilot today can still look forward to a long career flying B52's.

It's looking at a 90+ year service history if the current plan stays. That's an incredible record, but the B52 is a great plane so it's well deserved.

There are a few articles out there with 3 generations of the same family flying these planes, grandfather, father, and the current generation, maybe the 4th generations can even take part at this rate....
