Some bright spark at LHR decided ground staff should get experience of evacuating an aircraft on fire and we all had to go and do so on the airports fire simulator aircraft. Not a very pleasant experience which having done it I am even more amazed some cretins at LAS hung around long enough to get their carry ons.
50 percent of exits

I looked up the certification test for the A380 and that says 50% of the exits. When they did that they got 873 people out of 8 of the 16 exits in under the 90 seconds.

I know it's a big plane. I got to load bags onto one free style as the airport the plane was charted into didn't have equipment necessary to load using cans, boy was that fun, not...

It was just surprising they even opened the doors on that side since some airlines train not to use exist on the side of any fire if there is a side with no fire.

The good old Green Goddess. I got chucked in there as part of my fire facilitate training. It was filled with smoke for about 30 minutes, then we had to find our way out. Had to do it by feel as you couldn't see a thing. We were in full gear including full BA kit, but man, was it scary.

American Airlines made an oops on August 31st when they flew a non-ETOPS A321 from LAX to Hawaii.

The return flight cancelled and flight was ferried back. I didn't believe it at first, but an AA spokesperson has confirmed it did happen.

Oops. Someone is going to be unemployed after that.

Utter madness!

I'd sooner they found a Vulcan to keep in the air than try to resurrected Concorde, an aircraft that unfortunately is remembered for a catastrophic crash caught on camera that killed all on board.

I agree it probably won't but never say never especially when large sums of money are involved, but I still give it a very small chance of nearly 0.
