Streets of Rage is the only Megadrive game you need*.

Bit like Dreamcast should only come pre-fitted with Soul Calibur superglued into the drive.

*Unless you are a dirty hippy and want to play Ecco

Emulators usually take care of most of my needs. I have a CPC and an Amiga one as well.

Must get that Competition Pro USB joystick I keep forgetting to buy

Also Street Fighter II and Sonic. Defined the early '90s for me, those games. Flashback was good, too but I never had that one, just borrowed it off a mate. Didn't help that the Megadrive was my sister's as well. I was an Amiga man at the time. Spent more time playing Sensible Soccer than doing just about anything else back then. Christ, the memories

I never did play Ecco, though there was a massive circlejerk over that game at the time.

Amiga master race, bro.

Nah, my mate had an ST and it was every bit as good. Can't beat a zipstick, though, I had a callus on my right palm from the top of mine because I used it so often. I was so pissed with myself when I eventually broke it, but in fairness I just got beat 5-0 by a really shit team, so it needed to be thrown across the room.

Such a pleasing clicky noise they made though. Pure ASMR material, right there.

I didn't forget them. I discounted them as inferior.

Having said that,

There may be a copy of Golden Axe there somewhere.

I never did complete PoP without cheating (PC.. Amstrad 1512). Funny, people these days complain that games are too short, but PoP only gave you an hour to complete it.

I still miss Manic Miner and JSW. I remember buying crash magazine as they printed instructions for the games.

I have that kicking around somewhere, along with Crystal Caves, Commander Keen and Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure.

Also, OT .. People who post off topic in Pet Peeves. Think we got away with that one.

Yeah and if you used up your lives.... well you restart. from scratch. I prob spent wasted more time having a meltdown from a restart than actually from game play.

Thanks to the power of the internet and Java, you can now play it online, free and legally!

Do you mean Road Rash? Those were unbelievably good games. There were hours of fun with my cousin race spamming to make enough money to afford the Diabo (or whatever it was called), then all the other riders trash talking between races. I had it on the Amiga, too. Great days.

I spent probably 95% of my time in the mid-90s playing either Sensible Soccer or Championship Manager on my Amiga. Then I discovered Civilization ...
