Is that the sort of crap that goes on there? Do they twat when they're on the bog, or on the job too

I've seen the evidence of it on the football reports on the BBC site. From what I can work out, it's just people with an inflated sense of their own importance, thinking other people actually care about what they're doing 24/7.

I think I want to take my own life.

The 18th Century brought us the 'Age of Reason'
The 19th Century brought us the Industrial Revolution
The 20th Century brought us the Space Race ...

... and the 21st? People hunched over a phone telling us all they had a good shit, or they ate a cheese sandwich for lunch.

Jesus f***ing wept

I was out last week, and the two women on the table in front of me were both sitting there dabbling about at their phones and staring at the screens, for what seemed like the duration of their dinner. They hardly ever looked up. I could see the odd grunt of acknowledgement when the other one said something, or a quick nodding of the head as they carried on typing, but that was it.
Totally bloody pointless. They may as well have stayed indoors and gone online. To top it all off, as I walked out of the restaruant door, I meet two other women, and they're walking through the door that I'm holding open for them, while both gabbling away on their mobiles and not even acknowledging my politeness.
The mobile stuff has got seriously out of hand in the last 2 years.

Gahhhhh! I never pretended to be the life and soul of the party, but if you're out for lunch/dinner/a pint with someone put the bloody phone down for five minutes. If you're by yourself, who cares. I used to head to the pub at lunchtime and do the crossword, or read a book but if a mate came in I put them down. Likewise with the phone - it's handy to have internet for if I'm in a waiting room and I forgot my Kindle, but again I'm by myself at the time.

Seems a bit of a waste of money to go to a cafe and sit there on the phone, when you could have stayed at home and made a sarnie.

Stores who sell very healthy made organic food but make regular stuff with HFCS and other rubbish...it can still be cheap, none organic but not include crap in it FFS.

People in cars who don't even bother to make an attempt to dodge the massive puddle by the side of the road as you walk by.

Raincoats who in fact aren't actually waterproof..FFS, what's the point?

Doors, especially those screen doors that have the strut causing them to slam shut, but they never actually close properly either and are always ajar.

Curtain rods that are impossible to slide a curtain over.

Doing the laundry and finding you've dropped something, like a sock, as the load is about finished in the machine.

Twitter tags...they're just linking the feed for FB status updates.

Speaking of, people who link their twitter feed for their LinkedIn status updates....if I wanted to know your daily ramble, I'd follow your twitter feed, the fact that I don't means I don't want to see it pollute LinkedIn, you fkcuknuckle.

That one actually happened to me last night, I thought I was done with all the dirty laundry and found one of my son's footy socks behind the bathroom door. Unbelievably annoying, that one

Had a guy the other day that had stopped by my desk at the hotel to ask a question. He asks the question, then sits there the WHOLE time, I am answering him, looking at his phone and texting, NEVER looks at me once.

You do NOT know how much I wanted to rip that phone out of his hands and say, LOOK at me when I'm talking to you Bucko! :frown::frown::frown:

Of course, had you, for example been on a work related phone call when he arrived at your desk, he'd be the first person to bitch at you if you took more than three seconds to notice who was quite obviously THE most important person in the world at that time ...

Not than I'm anti-mobile phones, I have and use a smart phone of my own but there's a time and a place.

On a near identical theme, I had a manager until recently that would ALWAYS take a cell phone call in a meeting... including ones he was running!

So a team of about 15 of us would sit around for 10-mins or whatever was needed while he took the call.

During one of those ten min calls, I did the math:

15 people x 10 mins = 2.5 hours total labor

Burdened labor (inc medical, etc) = ~$100/hr

So they were $250 phone calls.

I'd estimate he did it at least twice a month. So about $6000 a year to take a cell phone call

I'm torn on that one. I think I hate meetings almost more than I hate the phone stuff ;)
