payrises and bonuses
IS anyone not getting a payrise and/or bonus this year because of the poor economy??? Hubby was looking forward to a payrise but wasnt expecting a bonus as he has only been here 6 months - in fact the company isnt giving payrises to anyone but he did get a nice bonus! wondered if this "bad economy" thing was countrywide in terms of pay?
did that make sense? |

Re: payrises and bonuses
We got rises this year, which was a bit of a surprise given the parlous state of the local economy and the fact that the City relies so heavily on sales tax revenue. However, the City Council not only voted against redundancies, but decided that staff should get COLA increases and, where appropriate, merit increases.
I reckon it won't happen next year, mind.:( |
Re: payrises and bonuses
My husband doesn't find out about bonuses until February....pay rises come out about that time as well. Standard 3% crap raise...... But the bonuses have been pretty nice. :)
My cost of living raise will happen this month..... |

The city is giving it's workers (OH)7.5% COLA plus merit (unheard of and will probably be the last for the next 5 years:eek:) The County (me) are getting 3.5% COLA plus merit. I wasn't expecting the merit as I recently got a promotion anyway with a raise so I am well chuffed:thumbup: |

Re: payrises and bonuses
I suppose OH and I are really lucky. We both work for the same manufacturing company, and we get quarterly incentive bonuses. So far, there has been no word about decreasing those, but I suppose it's possible because our orders have been down anywhere from 30-50% for the last 4 months. Keeping our fingers crossed we still get those bonuses.

Re: payrises and bonuses
No raise here this year, in fact they offered us a "gift" if we take 3 days leave unpaid.

My Dh is waiting to see what will happen with his pay. They don't get bonuses. The Union is in negotiations at the moment, so far the company has offered 3% rise over 8 years :frown: That won't even meet the rise in the cost of living. We seem to be falling behind each year, little by little. So he may well be on an unpaid vacation at the end of this month. Oh gawd I hope not. I'll have my Mom here from UK and him moping about pennyless, what a good time we'll be having  |

Well that might be true, but it's NOT due to the recent periods. Orders have definitely slowed way down. Hang in there everyone! |
Re: payrises and bonuses
I got a 5% pay raise this and 5% last year.
Hubby has not had a pay raise at all in 2 years and the one before that he wrote a letter to company owner asking for one :( |
