I really hope National Enquirer got this one wrong.

He was so cool in Dirty Dancing, my mam and I watched it last Thursday....

his publist says that he filming at the moment and that everything is normal at the mo and that the reports of patrick dying in 5 weeks are not true but it is true that he has cancer

patrick was one of my teen crushes way before dd when he was in a film called red dawn and north and south

Smile Re: Patrick Swayze & Carol Barnes

Yeah that's really sad too, apparently she was just getting back on track after her daughter, she was planning to go on her fist holiday since her death this week and she'd helped an old ITN colleague who was homeless and had alcohol problems get funding for The Priory through a documentary she did in January. But they say she's hanging in there, I don't know whether that's good or bad after such a massive stroke, at least it gives her loved ones a little time....

My thoughts go out to the Swayze family and the Barnes family...

There is an official statement from his publicist here:

http://perezhilton.com/category/patrick-swayze/

It seems that the reports stating that he has only 5 weeks left are exaggerated (I hope so).

My best friend's dad is in a Sydney hospital right now after having a thumbnail-sized tumour removed from his pancreas a fortnight ago. He's recovering from the op unusually slowly and still on a feeding tube. It's dreadful - pancreatic cancer is apparently the worst kind of cancer to have due to the organ being the slowest to recover and lowest of all survival rates for cancers.

Thats so sad. I love Patrick (like many, many people fell in love him with him in dirty dancing)
He seemed like such a nice man and has been married for over 30 years.
I wish him all the best.

My father was 32 when he died of pancreatic cancer. Apparantly the funeral director asked a relative why a young woman married such an old man.

What a shame.. I know his people said he's not dying, but I don't think I know of one person with pancreatic cancer who didn't die... fast. Very sad in young people.

There is an internet campaign at the moment to make Shes Like The Wind number one on the iTunes download chart.

Personally i hope it doesnt make it back to number one, it sucks! But if PS pops his clogs, it would be a nice tribute to hear him singing that his girlfiend is like a fart

I just heard about this from my spouse and I've looked for articles online about the news about Patrick. If he really has had an early diagnosis, he could live for a lot more than five weeks. I hope he's getting good and appropriate care.

My Mum had pancreatic cancer in 1996 and had major surgery at St. George's in Tooting to remove a cancerous tumor. She's still alive now and still smoking.

Steve Jobes had it too.
