Re: Offensive?!?!
shrug! you can't win. I was once told off by a woman for calling it a do dah. She said it was offensive to women using a euphemism as if it was shameful to call it what it is. She said I was afraid to call it a Vagina. I said, "VAGINA, vagina, vagina, there said it, big deal, but I am still calling it a do dah". People seem to spend time getting offended by lots of things.

Re: Offensive?!?!
In my organisation's annual sexual harrassment training a lawyer comes in and spends the day telling us exactly what does and what does not constitute sexual harrassment.
He told us of a case in which two office workers discussing the Clinton/Lewinsky incident in a closed office were overheard by a secretary sitting in the cubicle outside. She was offended by the sexual language being used, felt that she was unable to complain because the offender was her boss, and sued for workplace sexual harrassment. She won.
The female writer for Friends who sued CBS for sexual harrassment because of the sexual jokes being told by fellow writers in brainstroming sessions, however, lost. But not before the case went to the California Supreme Court.
The theatre is simply trying to avoid a lawsuit from an indiviudal so sensitive it's a wonder that they're able to step out of the door and actually function in society. What does she tell her daughter when she drivers by a Spearmint Rhino Gentleman's Club billboard and asks "Why is that nearly naked woman with the beachball breasts licking her lips?"

Re: Offensive?!?!
I worked in a restaurant as a soup cook when I first came over here. The day I made cockaleekie soup was interesting. None of the customers would order it, the wait staff wouldn't call it by name. They wanted me to wipe the name off the board and call it something else. I refused, of course.
