Obama - Yay Or Nay

Re: Obama - Yay Or Nay
It's quite common to find specialists who are not all-rounders. My BIL comes to mind -- he's a highly successful forensic engineer specialising in material failure. In all other matters, he behaves and thinks like a 12-year-old boy.

Interesting point. A lot of people (not saying here as such, but out and about) will jump on you if you criticise the Big O, saying 'oh so the Republicans could do better, eh?'
Well, no they couldn't, but did anyone ever think that perhaps another Democrat could? I don't know about Hilary, though if she's anything like Bill it might have been worth a go. But who knows, it's all conjecture anyway. In the absence of another sensible option, he'll get in as the lesser of two evils IMO.
Hope he makes the most of it.

Perhaps we should have a poll:
Who want 4 more years?

Well, at least if Hilary had taken the role, Bill would have been in the wings with an occasional cue card and aside that might have improved her act! Oh well, too late now - she's not even considering it any more - can't say I blame her - the way candidates get hung, drawn and quartered even before they get into office, she'd be shredded and set on fire during her campaign. One thing, however; she'd probably get a lot of women's votes simply for having had the gumption to "stand by her man".

Yes, that's true. Especially Brits, I think (those that vote) - all because of Thatcher. My OH despises Thatcher and warns that almost any woman in power will follow her path as regards becoming power happy. Once burned, twice shy, I guess.

That doesn't make a lot of sense...it seemed to be more a criticism of hairdos etc.

Oh, wait - I skipped over the "women" word - why do you think women are against her? I can't say I've heard any woman I know express disdain for her. But now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever had a really deep, intelligent conversation with many women about it, either.
