I have a fair few documents to notarize and I know that all places I know of charge $10 bucks a page and I may have couple of dozen.

Is there anywhere I can get it either lower or for free. I live in the East Bay, California.

I have heard some banks do but non here seem to ... I connected to Wells, Chase.

$10 a document surely? - they only attest to you being the signer. Or are you needing certified copies of docs? (pay for x pages copied, but only one notary fee)

Ask your bank, ours do it for free. ( Bank of America) not sure how many documents before they get impatient.

Edit: Oh, that'll teach me not to reply based on only reading the first line. I see a bank is not an option.

Wells Fargo has a notary in every branch, as far as I can tell.

Yes - every single page I say i want notarized, its $10 bucks. If that page has 3 signatures, then 30 for one page.

So really I would have 20-30 pages some of them would be 2 signature so looking at close to 400 bucks

Might call them and see if they can help. I can't play the super rich balances in Wells fargo card but I will try.

Given that they're on almost every street corner in the SF area, I'd just walk in and ask, but that's me.

Do you have a fedex or postnet store there, they often have notaries on staff.

Currency exchanges (no, not foreign currency) like this all have notaries.

They are mostly found in low to modest income areas. Only 1 or 2 dollars, at least in Illinois.

Also try your town/city hall.

Every bank I have been to does it.

Who do you actually bank with? I've always found that your bank will provide a free notary service to their own customers. Do you have a branch of your bank nearby?

Yes that is the fee for a 'private' notary here in NYC area.

Why do you have so many pages to be notarized. Surely not for USCIS purposes?

Pretty much every bank will have someone that can do it and most will do it free for customers or potential new customers if you say you're considering opening an account later.

Someone at the library is likely to do it for free.

A lot of town halls will have someone that will do it for free for town residents.

In addition to all those mentioned, most financial services, credit unions, and even some grocery stores have a notary on staff. $10 is a ridiculous amount to pay. I'm a notary, and I have never charged anywhere near that amount.
