I'm based in Minneapolis and fly NWA Local media is suggesting they may have fallen asleep. Apparently the passengers didn't notice anything.

Media reported tonight that the pilots may have been sleeping.

Either way they are probably not gonna fly again as their excuse of having a heated argument and loosing their situational awarness isn't gonna fly either, I mean it took ATC some 60 minutes apparently to get them on the radio again.

Sleeping or fighting either way not professional and not safe.

It'll be interesting to know how many hours they had been on duty the day before. 8hrs is the minimum legal rest period but by the time you catch the shuttle bus to the hotel then go back out the next morning, that 8hrs can become 6hrs or less. Add any timezone difference factor and it can make for a long day and a short rest period.

Yeah 9hrs is the normal rest period but it can be reduced to 8 (pt.135 world at least). Those "rolling rest periods" on pt.121 are a pain!
