Series VII had a few OK moments; series VIII was quite disappointing. I did enjoy the few bits and bobs I saw of Back To Earth but really the earlier ones were the best.
Having said that, a new Red Dwarf is better than no Red Dwarf, so what the smeg, eh?

I'm actually pretty excited about this. It's supposed to be more like the early seasons (but then, don't they always say that). There's a few very short clips on Dave's website (www.joindave.co.uk) that made me chuckle so I guess that's something.
Of course, I wait bloody ages for new RD and then leave the country right after the first episode airs. I hope I can find a way to watch it in the US. They're apparently hurrying out a DVD in November though so if the first episode's good (and it's not extortionately priced) I might spring for it.

I somehow managed to limit my DL to 25kbps instead of my UL, otherwise I'd have been watching this right now. Never mind, should be done in time to watch it bed

I watched the first new episode last night. It was pretty good.
Interestingly, all I need to do was to register on Dave, then I connected to my UK VPN (that I use for BBC iPlayer) and streamed it directly from the Dave website.
