Re: Nettie's Road Trip, May 2010
I could start my own tacky thread from tommorow, but unless we see bears I don't think it would be worth it. :)
Besides, I still haven't got the hang of posting pictures. |
Re: Nettie's Road Trip, May 2010
Back home now, and will be sorting out more photographs for posting soon.
On the last day in Yellowstone we saw a grizzly sow with four cubs. Too far away for any successful photographs, but got some good views from a spotting scope someone shared with us. Note to self: buy spotting scope before going to a National Park for the next time... Really amazing trip. Would recommend it to anyone, and would also recommend going early in the season to avoid crowds. One of my brothers-in-law showed me some photographs he took from a trip in July, and the crowding was terrible!! We were really lucky with the weather, apart from the snowstorm that chased us all the way from Yellowstone to Bozeman, and made driving a little tough. More later... |

Re: Nettie's Road Trip, May 2010
Don't miss seeing the first ever boll weevil found in SC at the Pendleton District Agricultural Museum. I haven't seen it yet myself! According to this link there's a Loch Ness type of monster hiding in Lake Murray:
Every few years, Irmo has a sighting of some kind of water monster that inhabits Lake Murray. The monster first 'surfaced' in 1973 when residents of Irmo and Ballentine saw a cousin of the Loch Ness Monster. It was described in The Independent News in 1980 as "a cross between a snake and something prehistoric." http://www.50states.com/facts/socaro.htm |

We always end up regretting wasting our time and missing out. It's a shame, cause hubby loves road trips. Our Son would be interested in the 'nessie' thing, he swears he saw Nessie in Loch Ness when we were there, he was only around 3 at the time:lol: |
