WOW those furry critters are hooooooooooooge!!

The nuclear stuff sounds fascinating and something me and hubby would be interested in, I may pick your brains about your route one day!!

We really want to ski at Jackson Hole one day, and another one of my plans is to ride a horse in Wyoming (childhood dream of mine) - do you think you might do that? :p

No Sh*t! And there were lots of them: not the millions of the old days, but at least 200 in the herd we saw.

No problem. It's WAY easier thanks to teh intarwebs, but knowing what is, and what is not worth visiting is helpful: let someone make the mistakes, is my philosophy. Of course, in WA we have Hanford, which is a really interesting place to visit. The tickets for the two free tours generally go within 8-10 hours of becoming available. I have tickets for the tours this year, and may not be able to go: I can PM you if I find I won't be able to go. The Hanford site tour is USC only, but the B Reactor tour is open to everyone.

No riding for me, since my osteoarthritis set in badly about five years ago. However, there are TON of riding establishments here in Jackson Hole. And lots of skiing too, here at Teton Village: so much so, that they have a park-and-ride system to the village.

Today's pictures all come from Teton NP.

First up, a couple of White-Tailed does, one with an itch!

Next, some American White Pelicans. These were take from a long way away, with a point 'n' shoot, hence the grain.

This is Lake Jenny - still frozen, and very beautiful. I'm sure that with bright sun it would have been even more impressive. I'd love to come back and see it, mirror-smooth, reflecting the Tetons.

This is the Snake River valley, in the southern part of Teton NP.

This is some sort of hole-dwelling mammal, but I'm not 100% sure what it is: any help would be appreciated.

Tomorrow we head up to Yellowstone NP. Will post more as I get it...

Thanks: whatever it was, it was scolding the hell out of us. Amazing chittering sound, that I thought was a bird initially

This is a great thread, and nice pictures too. Looks like a pretty interesting part of the country up there, I'll have to check it out one of these days.
