WOW those furry critters are hooooooooooooge!!
The nuclear stuff sounds fascinating and something me and hubby would be interested in, I may pick your brains about your route one day!! We really want to ski at Jackson Hole one day, and another one of my plans is to ride a horse in Wyoming (childhood dream of mine) - do you think you might do that? :p |

Re: Nettie's Road Trip, May 2010
Today's pictures all come from Teton NP.
First up, a couple of White-Tailed does, one with an itch! http://gumbercules.com/2010_road_tri...-05-19 WTD.jpg http://gumbercules.com/2010_road_tri...05-19 Itch.jpg Next, some American White Pelicans. These were take from a long way away, with a point 'n' shoot, hence the grain. http://gumbercules.com/2010_road_tri...9 Pelicans.jpg This is Lake Jenny - still frozen, and very beautiful. I'm sure that with bright sun it would have been even more impressive. I'd love to come back and see it, mirror-smooth, reflecting the Tetons. http://gumbercules.com/2010_road_tri...Lake Jenny.jpg This is the Snake River valley, in the southern part of Teton NP. http://gumbercules.com/2010_road_tri...nake River.jpg This is some sort of hole-dwelling mammal, but I'm not 100% sure what it is: any help would be appreciated. http://gumbercules.com/2010_road_tri...9 Not Sure.jpg Tomorrow we head up to Yellowstone NP. Will post more as I get it... |

Looks like a groundhog.
PS I do wish you would change your avatar...I keep asking myself why Ian is posting pics in your thread. |

Thanks: whatever it was, it was scolding the hell out of us. Amazing chittering sound, that I thought was a bird initially

This is a great thread, and nice pictures too. Looks like a pretty interesting part of the country up there, I'll have to check it out one of these days.
