Thanks for the tip - I enjoyed this very much.

I also recently watched a series called Grand Tour, presented by Kevin McCloud which I would also recommend.

If you like old country music check out 'Road to Nashville'. I found the 1st half pretty bad, but there is an excellent cut of the Stonemans around the hour mark that has the old stiff banjo playing with the up and down and knee thing, and some great heel and toe.

Doodles gets a little stiffed in it though imo.

Gangster No. 1

This completely passed me by, until I came across a reference to it online.

Great Brit style gangster movie.

Malcolm McDowell, David Thewlis, Paul Bettany all give great performances.

Re: Netflix

American reviews of British movies on Netflix site can be fun.

Wish I could understand what the actors were saying? Seems like the King's English is just another European dialect......... Sure ain't American. Could only watch the first third of it...... English movies need subtitles until they learn to speak "English"?

As soon as I heard the english accent I knew I should have stopped watching

Dont waste your time with this movie. If you are not used to English Brogue, it is very hard to understand what they are saying when they talk fast. This is an English movie that needs subtitles for Americans.

Can't understand what they are saying. Need subtitles.

LOL! Even now I occasionally have a hard time understanding my one uncle.

Been watching 'You bet your life'. It's funny, you can see that sometimes Marx's rough humour kinda shocks the guests :)

Re: Netflix

So I've just gone and added streaming back onto my account. There's a few TV series they now have that are well worth the streaming fee for me.

Started watching Revenge. I thought the first one was only okay but my wife really liked it so we've carried on watching it. Starting to get into it now about 4 or 5 episodes in!

Any new Netflix finds from anyone?

If anyone's into video games, Indie Game: The Movie is a great documentary.

When they made the split I kept the streaming and cancelled the 'by mail' service. The streaming is so much more convenient.

I completely agree but there were quite a few films that were relatively new releases that we wanted to watch that weren't available by streaming so we deleted the streaming and kept the DVD option to watch new releases.

I think we may delete the DVD option for the next 6 months until there's more DVD releases we want to watch out. The streaming is far better for TV series you just can't get new release films on it.
