Netflicks

Do you have netflicks? My wife wants to sign us up but I am hesitant. We only only have one movie rental place in the closest town (not including the library which has a pretty good selection and is free!) and she is dissatisfied with the selection available there.

Go for it! I have it and absolutely love it. Pardon me while I start to sound like an advert. It's perfect since it's delivered directly to your mail box. I love the fact that on Netflix's site I can maintain a list of movies that I want to see. That way I don't have the problem of forgetting what I wanted to see in the first place when I go to the rental store. I always end up drawing a blank. Also one thing that I love is that I'm more daring now with my movie choices since you can rent as many as you can given that you are dutiful in sending the viewed ones back. I like that shipping is included both ways. Really cool. You know I don't feel bad renting a b-movie flick at the end of the day which is kinda nice. I'd say give it a go and cancel whenever you want.
One last thing. I have the rent 3 at a time plan for 18 and change and I've seen about 15 movies for 18 bucks. Can't beat that with a stick I tell ya. Screw Blockbuster and their so-called 'restocking' fee. Complete BS.

Yes, but I only get the 2 a month plan for $5 a month. It's not worth me getting any more because I would never get my money's worth especially now they have some stuff you can watch online (you get one hour of online viewing a month for every dollar you pay for your subscription) so with that it means I get to watch one film a week if I have time to.

depends where you live and where they are being sent from, for some it's great and quick, for others it's slow and shit...

I'd try it out for a couple of months and see what delivery is like.
I used them years ago when they first started, used to get 5 movies at a time, but they were shipping from CA and eventually I got fed up with the time it took and quit.

Thanks for all the opinions!
We've got friends that love it, but they watch a lot of movies. We don't watch so many due to time, kids etc... They don't have any kids (well until sometime today, she's in labor as we speak!) So I'm not sure that we'll be able to take full advantage of the service. For us, I think it would be more of a selection issue, I don't watch many "new" movies, and you can't find the older stuff at the rental place. We got a free trial thing in the mail so I think we'll try that and see how it works out...

I was considering it a while back but read some bad things, including the alleged "con" surrounding their "rent as often as you like" claim. I'd heard that the more frequently you send movies back the longer it takes to get the next one - a kind of negative prioritization built into their system. Also read their customer service was poo - faulty disk got sent back for replacement and the same one came back again - twice.

our local library has a good selection of tele series....but they don't do inter library service for dvd/videos, only books.
