Need to register with British Embassy?

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and new to the US having just been moved to New York by my company with my family.

I did a quick search of the forum looking for an answer and couldn't find one - apologiues if I missed it...

Do i need to 'register' with the British embassy/consulate as a resident here in US, and if so, how do I do so...?

Any tips gratefully received....

No ..that stopped years ago ..but there is a new voluntary scheme for doing this
