My mum died this morning
Well, 16 months after diagnosis, and after taking off about 9 months of work to go home to Australia as a carer, my lovely mum has died. She went peacefully at 6am this morning while I was holding her hand.
Happened fast in the end - last week we were all down at the bowling alley with mum watching..
So although I will miss her like crazy later, for right now I am just glad and relieved for her - no more freakin oxygen tanks, wheelchairs or walkers.
I do think James Hardies execs should have to sit in the room watching someone die over 3 or 4 days and struggling for each breath, thanks to their asbestos cash cow. Their "compensation" doesn't begin to make a difference.

Re: My mum died this morning
RIP - I'm sure it was a huge comfort for her to have you there when she needed you the most and it will be a comfort to you in the future when you think back that you were there for her and shared those last few months.
I was with my Dad at his bedside for the last 5 days and was hugely relieved for him when he finally passed away as he was so ready. The cycle of life continues.

Oh at least you were with her when she passed my dad died in my arms, and as sad and dramatic as it is there is a kinda peace that you have knowing that you were with them to the very end.
God Bless.
