Forget who the political analyzer is who touted this, but the the thought is that Pence intentionally is being thrown under the bus over COVID-19 so that he will be dropped and DJT will have Nikki Haley as running mate. Whomever also thinks that, if Dems prevail, Biden will step-down over health ... the VP choice is a valid candidate to be POTUS but isn't able to carry themselves solo as the forerunner. Its a working theory and time will tell!

Pence has actually looked semi-respectable as compared to Trump. Of course, that's setting an incredibly low bar.

He was a disaster for New York State and not at all popular. It is his slogan "If someone is to be held responsible, it is me."

Not popular? Really? I think he’s a pretty good governor, and certainly has the confidence of folks I know in the North Country - republicans as well as Democrats.
