Awesome, I love mini's! It does look like a toy next to that Tundra though.

Not sure I'd want to be in one over here to be honest...

I had one as my first car, back in Blighty. I like the way it comes upto the door handles on the Tundra.

My first car also Mini Countryman with the wood trim. cost 150 pounds in 1970. i also loved the simplicity of cars back then, i learnt how to repair most things on that car bar engine failure. wouldnt dare touch the modern cars with their computers etc and zero space under the bonnet.
Didnt go for the wheel extenders but it had a larger engine 1100 cc if I remember and bigger carb
I also used to work at Longbridge in the summer hols and years later sold them components
Happy Days.

Learnt to drive in a 850 Mini in 1979 The floor was sort of.... missing... on the passenger side of that one.

Later on had a purple mini 1000 with an engine from a Marina dropped into it (1300cc). last one was a bright orange 1275GT

I would love one of those now... so hard to find / expensive here though it seems.

Mrs Nutek has a new Mini Cooper. Great little car. It's about twice the size of the old ones though.

They're great though....seen a couple of them around. There has been one for sale heading out towards Northampton, MA, for the last couple of years that we've gone past the place, but it's looking like it needs more and more work over the years

My mother always had minis.. I learnt to drive on one back in the 60s. Three-point turns were easy enough! I didn't notice it back then, but decades later, when I was in England and sometimes drove my mother around I found that there really wasn't room for your knees in the drivers seat, and I'm only average height!

Is it really? I know the new ones are not exactly 'mini' anymore but I always found the originals to be tiny. It's certainly pretty low which would be my major concern in a crash. Take the Tundra next to it in the picture - bumper at exactly head height in a side on crash...

I passed my test in a 1979 Mini 1000.

Later got a 1978 Mini Advantage special edition (was tennis themed). Put in a 1275 MG Metro engine which made it go pretty well. Fun little car.

On the other hand, you're less likely to roll in a small car and more able to get out of the way.

Lack of airbags is a concern on having older cars though....and being driven over whilst stopped at the lights

On the interview they had us provide a sample of our handwriting. I had clear legible handwriting so my job for 2 weeks was to take info from punch cards and transfer it to a ledger and vice versa
How times have changed
