It's probably going to be lost on you, but there's a huge variation across various brands and textures. There's 'smooth and creamy', there's 'crunchy', etc. I used to hate the stuff (I found it bitter and dry) but eventually found a brand/type that really hit the spot - rich and creamy. Since you have others in the house that like it, maybe try a few different variations!

Smooth now satisfies both and my MIL. Kraft is favoured. One of the supermarket brands is runny

I posted this in the climate change thread, but also thought about posting it here.

This was published, apparently as a cautionary tale ahead of 4th July, but the story as published leaves several questions. ... If a "fireworks tent" isn't a point of sale, what is it? If a fireworks tent is a point of sale, why was a firework being lit there? Why was someone who claimed to be experienced in handling fireworks, planning to throw a lit fireworks?

At least the victim survived to tell the story.

Having googled I see that fireworks tents are indeed used for selling fireworks.
I guess this is a UK/US/North America difference in that back in Blighty we'd all buy our own from regular shops and use them in our gardens come November 5 or for larking about before then.
I see them advertised here, but never see anyone buying or even using them. On special days there may be an event somewhere and I'll occasionally hear something in the neighbourhood - presumably similar larking about.
A complete contrast to buying a box of bangers - Cannons, were extra loud and I remember they came with a tip covering the fuse - and having fun.
My favourite was setting them off in freshly laid cow pats. Spectacular.

Dropping them down drains or in glass bottles was good fun too.
But the liberties we took
keeping the box in your pocket (something I stopped doing when I saw the annual TV warning that featured a kid who had his penis amputated after doing that and it went off - in more ways than one
), lighting the fuse and waiting for it to fizz a bit before throwing or releasing it down the drain. You had to do that, it would fail if you released it too soon.
You're absolutely right though. They are not designed to be thrown. Although being experienced in using fireworks isn't necessarily the same as being as being safe.
I remember a family do in the garden back in the 60s and a jumping jack jumped up my aunt's skirt. Oh how we laughed.

Hmm .. I don’t really know what the fireworks laws are in New York, but they’re relatively restrictive. Fireworks are only sold from temporary structures, tents, that probably have to be more than a certain distance from buildings etc. Maybe Florida is similar.

for me
for the other three.
