Fork tines up or down? The history of knife handlage in America. Mixing foodstuffs: yes or no? Nomenclature of eating implements. Knife/fork position as an indicator a satiety. Permissibilty of opinions from non-resident individuals.

Now you mention it. Why do some Americans go to the trouble of cooking a wonderful Thanksgiving meal, only to serve it on paper plates so they don't have to wash up:rolleyes:

I'm not so worried about the paper plates (there's still pots to wash up anyway) but what I'd like to know is why does everyone always have to come over to our house??

(that is off topic I know but I'd like to see one of my inlaws have to clean up after everyone for a change ;))

Ya got me there, I dunno. I usually avoid that particular thing. I can say this though, sweet potato fries and sweet potato chips (Both in US terminology) are very good.:D
