Default Juicers

Anyone recommend a really good one?

I have one but not too happy with it.

I juice a lot and this one is a tad too lightweight for me.

This is the one I have. So far, it's okay. I've never owned a juicer before, so not sure if this is a good or bad juicer. But it has a ton of great reviews on Amazon (but I did buy mine at Macy's).

How big is the hole you stick the veggies/fruit through? Can it handle a very large carrot, for example?

I have to cut up all my stuff into nearly chinese stir fry size before they'll fit and it is what is driving me nuts.

I'm really finding it difficult to keep out of trouble here.

But on topic, does the juice from all these mixed up veggies actually taste good enough that it's not a chore to drink it?

I have been looking for a new one as well.
Quite fancy the L'Equip 215XL
3" feed tube, 900 watt. 6 year warranty. $130
Some places have the smaller model but it isn't as good.

I'd say the opening is about 3 inches in diameter. I mostly juice fruits; usually the only time I have to cut anything is with a large apple or orange. Otherwise I just stick the whole thing down the feeder tube.

It's pretty easy to clean as well. All the juicing parts can go into the dishwasher. And even if you let it sit for a week it's still not to hard to clean (found this out due to sheer laziness on my part). But if you're low on countertop space, this may not be the one for you. This baby is tall and wide! The pulp bucket is large enough to be a garbage can. I use our plastic grocery bags to line it so it's easier to clean.

Tho I do find that it froths the juice quite a bit. As this is my first juicer, I don't know if this is normal or not.

Yes it does. I think so anyway. I juice a lot - good to do a juice fast once in a while for a week or so, to detox. You do have to get used to it, but if you juice enough sweet - carrots, fruit - with your spinach/celery, it doesn't taste that bad.

I always throw celery and spinach/broccoli into my smoothies. Great way to get iron and a bunch of vitamins without even noticing it.

Thanks sun. The receptacle on mine is very small and I find I have to keep emptying out the pulp and juice as I make it. I like to make it in batches to last me a day and it takes forever with mine. I'll definitely look at yours.

Yours too dolly.

Two big rocks and cheese cloth. Cheap and fits any size fruit of veggie.

I suppose you can, though the healthy properties in juice do deteriorate over time - one reason that juicing fresh daily is recommended.

It is a great way to get a variety of veggies into kids if they don't eat them
