Job Interview
I'm flying to the US for a job interview tomorrow. I've been advised on this forum to not mention that I am coming for an interview in case it causes problems (although I understand it's perfectly legal). I'm finding it very difficult to come up with plausible reasons for coming as I am only going to be there for 2 days in a hotel and the ticket cost nearly $3000 so it doesn't seem likely that I'd be coming simply for tourism. Do you think if I say I am going for "a meeting" that would be ok? Of course I'm assuming a meeting doesn't require a special visa or anything?? Thanks in advance.

If I was you, I would simply tell them you're coming for business and
give them the name of the company if they ask. If they really insist,
you could tell them you're meeting them to discuss a future
collaboration and leave it at that.
I don't think they have access to the price of tickets, so that wouldn't
really make them suspicious. I wouldn't worry too much if I was you,
just don't tell them more than they need to know.

Re: Job Interview
I told them I was going for an interview; I think that's still classed as personal. It turns out that the officer had worked for the company I was interviewing for in a temp capacity previously, and had played some of the games I'd written He waved me through no probs!
