Re: Job Hunting Frustration
Well, in a spirit of enquiry, I logged back in and took a look at the next section.
It was - "What is the next shape in this sequence?"
So I called their HR department and told them that while I would be delighted to be considered on the basis of my qualifications and experience, I would not be spending any more time on what looked like a bogus IQ test.

That is often a sore point with me about practical experience vs a string of letters after your name.
When he first arrived here, DH applied for a job at GA Ports- 30 years shipping experience in the industry in the UK, however the gal they hired was fresh out of college here with a degree in Logistics.

I got approval to hire an IT guy recently; we posted an ad on Dice, and our recruiter did some preliminary screening. I interviewed 4 potential candidates this week (1 hr each), liked two of them, decided on one of them, spoke to my boss for about 10 minutes on the topic and got the go-ahead, then offered the guy the job at the upper limit of his desired salary range. Working in a small company has its advantages ...
