https://www.britishcornershop.co.uk/...tant-household

will sell it to you for $10 or so.

Off the top of my head, I don't think there is anything like it in the USA.

What do you want to use it for? There are plenty of disinfectants available in the grocery stores here, maybe we could suggest a good product for you instead?

Despite spending a significant part of my life in DIY stores in the US, I have never seen Jeyes Fluid here, nor anything I would consider to be "similar". Depending on what you are trying to clean or sterlize Americans would probably use bleach for sterlizing, or something like Greased Lightning for degreasing or heavy cleaning.

A tip I got from a cleaning blog (sad, I know but I read these now and again) was to use this product
Krud Kutter 1 gal. Original Concentrated Cleaner/Degreaser-KK012 - The Home Depot
diluted 1:5 with water. It is great and cleans up everything quickly and super cheaply.

For disinfecting I use diluted bleach - cleaning the toilets, wiping over the bathroom/kitchen worktops , 1/2 cup each night down the waste disposal. Don't use a sprayer though.....if it goes on your clothes, you'll want to cry.

I also use bleach in my swimming pool (sodium hypochlorite) instead of the chlorine tabs. works great.

Never mind a "cleaning blog", Mrs P won't use anything but Greased Lightning, which is a competing product - and we were tipped off to it by a woman who works as a cleaner. I don't know what they put in it but if you spray it in the bottom of the shower and leave it for a few minutes it will cut through the grey bath/shower grunge and just needs to be wiped up. Scrubbing Bubbles and the other heavily marketed cleaning products are pathetic in comparison.

Lysol® Brand Concentrate Disinfectant.

That's probably the closest I have ever seen in the US to Jeyes Fluid.

The Greased Lightning Orange Blast version doesn't seem to be available any more. We need Mrs P's urgent advice on where to find it please.

I thought Jeyes Fluid was something you used in the garden, not for indoor cleaning tasks.

It can be used for many cleaning and sanitizing tasks around the home and garden. My father used to swear by it. In fact this thread has made me think that I need to get some.

I think I read in the History of Jeyes Fluid that they used to cure people of scarlet fever and dropsy by bathing them in Jeyes Fluid.

Or maybe it was that they no longer died of scarlet fever or dropsy...
