Jet Lag!!!

ok its 3.28AM here (amsterdam) and i cant sleep!! the alarm is going to go off at 4.50AM, for the flight back at 8am to the states. I wouldnt mind but i only arrived at 1pm this afternoon.... and no i didnt sleep all afternoon! I cant count sheep anymore. What do u do with jet lag? I am getting old with all of this lack of sleep!!

but i will be going on first break.. so it will be down in the bunk for me.. and snoring my head off over the atlantic.. i hope!!!

It's a mix. Noise canceling headphones on the flight are a major help. You definitely arrive more relaxed and rested then just spending 8 hours with that engine drone. Extensive water on the flight, approximately 8-10 oz per hour (yes, per hour) is also a major help.
In general, I try to avoid red eyes unless I'm flying First (and can sleep properly). I fly over to Europe during the day if at all possible so when I arrive I can just fall asleep in sync with the European time.
But there are some times you just can't get around it. My flights to Hong Kong (+12 hours) are literally night and day so I just take a few days to recover. Sleep when I feel like it, awake when I'm awake. Just have to deal with it as it comes rather than try to fight it.

Should have tried that NoJetLag stuff......we took it when we went over in June and it worked pretty good.....

Sorry, can't help you right now - have you tried alcohol?

When i want to sleep but can't do it naturally i use Melatonin which is a naturally occurring hormone that just helps you feel sleepy.
