Huh...from a country that won't outlaw corn syrup...that stuff is deadly.
(my opinion after watching "The Men Who Made Us Fat" what a brilliant documentary this was.

Why are they really banned? They are all sugar and food colouring aren't they?
I ate a huge bag of jelly babies last week, (then felt a bit sick ) they were in my care package from Mum

I did a bit more research, and Bassestt's is a brand Cadbury own's.

My guess is now that Kraft owns Cadbury, it got Hershey into defending its home turf since they hold the licence.

I can't find anything on the FDA being involved though, but who knows.

Hershey defending solid brown blocks of vomit. A hell of a platform, there

Gross, so no good reason, just jealousy that they don't make something so great, so no one can have any.

Wonder who in the FDA is in Hershey's back pocket. Some of these stupid government decisions come from bl**dy lobbyists trying to push their company's adgenda. Bet they have never tried Crunchie or Jelly Babies before. Don't know what they're missing.

Surely it has nothing to do with food colouring etc. Have you seen the colour of the US fruit loops compared to the UK ones? They are obsessed with making things appear very brightly coloured over here. My Kids looked very confused when they had Fruit Loops in the UK. Don't even get me started on the colour of the Airhead candy!!

Fanta Orange is almost glow in the dark here too. But the one in UK is much more subdued in comparison.

It comes down to the fact Hershey holds the rights and license to Cadbury in the US, and Cadbury doesn't have the right to sell in the US, and as stores the products cannot be legally imported for commercial sale.

If Cadbury wants to sell their product, they could always buy out the license from Hershey.
