I'm at Lowes right now after finding some hurricane shutters for my new house don't fit quite right.

I emerged.

The weather forecast here at the moment is for a chance of rain tomorrow and rain (90% chance) on Friday and Saturday. Winds could reach 15 (fifteen) mph.

I keep telling y'all that the weather in my neck of the woods is invariably benign, winter, spring, summer, and autumn, but nobody wants to believe me. :(

The biggest threat for Pulaski Manor at the moment is that if there is a call to evacuate eastern NC then the in-laws will be coming to stay.

The forecast for wind is now up to 17mph on Saturday and 16mph on Sunday. The forecast is for no rain on Sunday, but still a 90% chance of rain on Friday and Saturday.

Have you had to evacuate, and if so, how far have you run, and what, if any, advice was given on where you are supposed to sleep for the next few nights?

There was an evacuation order for Charleston yesterday at 15:00. Apparently a police car came round the neighborhood yesterday with a tannoy telling everyone to leave. It was followed by an ice cream van!

We are staying for the moment, but having everything ready to leave if nec. We have friends in Charlotte that we would go to. Downtown Charleston is pretty dead right now.

We had booked to go away this weekend to the Gulf Coast in Florida, so we will be OK. Some idiots in my office are heading down to Miami when we get out of work today. I honestly cannot understand the logic

I agree. A lot of people that sat through Hugo were the first ones out. If it looks like a reasonable chance of stronger than Tropical Storm winds, we are out of here.

I received a Facebook message earlier today to say that a friend was in the departure lounge at Glasgow airport and about to board a flight to Orlando (although I hear all the theme parks are closed now?).

I don't know which airline she is with, but I had a quick look on Flightaware and there is a Thomas Cook flight currently en-route from Glasgow to Orlando!
