Default Hurricane Idalia - Who Made It Through

Hurricane Idalia

Hoping that all our members who reside in Florida, Georgia and North and South Carolina have made it through Idalia intact and without any or only minor damages.

My Family in Fort Myers and Panama City Beach, Florida came through the hurricane as it is didn't happen. Idalia was sandwiched between those two cities.

Glad to hear your family are all ok Rete

Watching some of the damage makes me really glad we finally left the Texas gulf coast. Thirty three years of worrying every summer about tropical storms and hurricanes really gets old! Hopefully the rest of the season stays fairly calm for all the coastal states

We're a bit north of Panama City. Pretty much a non-event here. Wind of maybe 20mph and no rain at all until late last night.

Down here in St Petersburg it was a bit windy overnight Tuesday, not enough to blow anything around, Rain was intermittent and not too heavy. I am at least 4 miles from the water of the Bay and the Gulf, and I learned my elevation is 60 feet, so no surge risk. (The highest point i the county is 100feet further north).

The coastal areas got hit, but I have seen worse.

The eye was about 100 miles offshore when it passed by.
We did get the day off work yesterday, just in case.

Here in Tallahassee we were a little concerned.
Thankfully turned East in the last hours before landfall sparing us the worst.
Lots of downed trees, broken power lines ect.
Lost power for 30 or so hours.
Thankful for a large generator and the portable AC.
All in all just a big yard and pool clean up day for us.
