Crap so far. 2 pieces of work that people promised to have finished by this morning haven't been done. I have a meeting with the CFO at 11am to finalize the work that these 2 pieces feed in to.
I've got a million and one things that have to be done today, otherwise deadlines won't be met. And I can't get on with any of them until various people have done their part.
On the bright side, when I do finally get finished (around 8pm tonight,) I'm then on vacation for the rest of the week, and get to spend 5 whole days in So. Cal. with my daughter

Just had a massive thunderstorm, everywhere flooded, trees down on the main road down to the end of our peninsula. OH gone to check if the boat is still there! Finally back online..

Pretty shit. Found out the house we bid for sold to someone else, which leaves us with 6 weeks to find somewhere else, or rent.

Explaining the same nonsense over and over again has got very old very quickly today.
The department I work for are building a new health clinic, it will be right infront of our Lab so the Director decided that they will take our mailing address and we will have to have another one. Not just a number change, it has been decided we are now on a different street!
So explaing to over 500 monthly clients that they have to use different report forms, starting now and then repeating over and over that we are still in the same building and then doing the same with the State entities that govern the test we perform I have had enough. My head hurts, I have taken a sick afternoon. The lazy co-workers can deal with it

Not too bad so far, the dude has been ferrying me around doing errands all day. He would never have come before but 'have permit, will insist on driving everywhere' seems to be the new way of getting from A to B.

My Monday is going pretty well - we have left our son and dog with the Grandparents for a week, so we are footloose and fancy free this week Oh and the sun is shining (and has been for what seems like ages) so that's all good...
On the other hand, I have spent a bit of time today squabbling with Priceline.
As part of our footloose & fancy free lifestyle, OH & I are planning a couple of days up in London later this week. I used the 'name your price' option on Priceline (which I have used before and been happy with). I said I would be happy with a 4* or better hotel and my bid was successful but the property we got was serviced apartments.
I've no problem with apartments or self catering or any of those options sometimes, but I'm not sure that apartments count as a hotel? On this occasion, it is definitely a hotel we are looking for.
Priceline are not budging, their view is that they have given us what we agreed to... we are not so sure...

3rd party sites are great when everything goes as planned, but throw in an issue and they can be a nightmare.
And if it boils down to the old room next to the ice machine, and a suite on the top floor, and one booked priceline and one booked direct, guess who gets the yucky room? Yup priceline customer, lowest priority guest.
I have so far accomplished nothing, but my other half is working today and tomorrow, so waiting for Wed to arrive...

That reminds me. Pissed off last night, just watched Season 1 of Boardwalk Empire on Amazon Prime, went to watch Season 2 only to discover only S1 was on. $30 to get S2
