Traffic, especially rush hour, is definitely a nightmare. I-10 has just finished a 10(?) year expansion program to the west of the city, (which is what you would have driven from SA), adding lanes, extra HOV lanes etc. I think we counted it at 16 lanes wide in some places, including the service roads! It was an extra nightmare during the works, and unfortunately, now it is all finished, it doesn't seem to have solved the problem because the massive expansion westwards is putting even more traffic on it.
