We already did that. From about 1700 to about 1900 we took in the
overflowpopulation of Europe. From about 1965 on, we took in the overflow
population of almost every other place. Now, "the lifeboat is full".

Why do you draw a line at 1965? Because of civil rights movement or
something else? Either admit that in USA whites cannot live with
non-whites the converse of Zimbabwe or you are a liar.

It is such a pity that we have morons on here who choose to remain ignorant
of the 1965 immigration "reforms" that led to today's immigration
policy-enforcement-fact debacle. Had the 1924 reforms never been done away
with in 1965, we wouldn't be having this discussion at all.

if the "life boat" is full it is because of the illegals who are here, not due to legal immigration of fiancees or relatives.

This is the good'ol statement 90% of the wealth is owned by 10% of
Americans. Just think why the father of America's richest man
campaigns against the abolition of dividend tax which the Republican
administration wanted. Obviously he is worried his son has to share
this bonanza (by offering a dividend) on top of new-found wealth with
already wealthy share holders of his business. Of course even an
intellectual such as the host of the show "Now" on PBS would not want
to get into the family business. Don't forget that the US media is the
hatchet man.

And why not? The population growth from legal immigration is huge and
unsustainable

Admit you're an idiot, okay? I live in a neighborhood that has been quite
integrated for over 20 years. We'd feel very strange, most of us, if there
weren't any black people around. It'd be like... I dunno, Denver or
something. (Denver is historically so white a lot of people think it looks
like a Barbie-Doll convention.)

I mentioned 1965 since that is when the US revised its immigration policy
towards a preference for "family unification"; the ability of any family
member to sponsor another (who could sponsor another who could sponsor
another for entry) led to a cascade of entries, a sort of "domino effect".
It increased the rate of immigration at least sixfold.

This immense wave of immigration accelerated throughout the late 1980s and
the 1990s, to the point where the US grew from 1990 to 2000 by an
unprecedented 15%, all of that due entirely to immigration.
