Hello Alex, where are you headed?
Here we go again. First named storm of the season which may or may not do anything too exciting, but of course some of the local weather stations are plotting it's course to effect the gulf coast.
So all week we will be getting more breaking storm news and updates All I'm worried about right now is if it spoils our long 4th July weekend

I hope it doesn't do too much.
Ds rolled his eyes when I told him the first storm and it has his name

I think if it does gain momentum then it will hit Mexico and maybe some of Texas. Hopefully it wont, but the biggest worry is where the oil spill is. If it moves along the gulf coast then it could get nasty

Alex hit Mexico and we are now almost an island
Rain is still falling and we have sandbags around the doors. The pasture behind us is flooded and is moving slowly towards us. We are hoping that it will slow up through the night but the forecast is rain right through to Sunday..

Good idea
Usually by now, with this amount of water, it is at a higher level. Some of the bayous around here have been dredged recently so I'm hoping it will help us this time
(and the karma message cracked me up...lol)

Yikes SM I don't know how you live with this sort of thing every year. Good luck...I hope it subsides. Take care.

G/F just booked a quick weekend away in the Caribbean and is dragging me along since none of her friends are available (I'm definitely not her first choice!) ... oh joy, I get to worry about the hurricanes ...

Water not in the house yet, so that's a good sign. Bad sign is it will carry on raining for the next couple of days and also on the way to work this morning we could see how all the other smaller bayous were flooded out, that water will flow our way.
I'm not in panic mode yet
