I didn't think Diana's ring would get recycled as it didn't bring her vast amounts of luck . . . but wrong again!

Dear me, she's a commoner. A really rich commoner but a commoner all the same.
I have to admit to being amused by the many humorous comments on twitter today. Along the lines of "it must be the 80s: recession, Torys in power and a royal wedding", "so, what bad news are they going to bury today" etc etc.

Not sure I would want that ring - it's beautiful, but didn't bring Diana a whole lot of luck!!

I don't get the luck comments. She was divorced when she died so I'm guessing she wasn't wearing the ring, so taking it off would've been the bad luck, not wearing it. You could argue that it was good luck to wear it.

It's because it represented what turned out to be a sham of an engagement and very unhappy marriage...which in the end resulted in Diana's death.

That's not really bad luck, that's bad decision making. Diana's death wasn't caused by the marriage though, just another bad decision not to wear a seat belt.

No it isn't Crown property...it's a private possession. Charles bought the ring for Diana...she kept it after they divorced and she left it to Wills. I remember reading about it after she died.

I feel sorry for them since they'll never know what's it's like to have a 'normal' relationship. Always being in the spotlight, privacy practically non-existent, always having to look/dress/act certain ways, etc.
