I watch it via TunnelBear. I actually tried to watch it earlier today but my kids kept yammering on throughout it, asking if I could make whatever it was they bakers were making, that I may need to watch it again, with a cup of tea and a couple biscuits.

You can always use FILMON TV FREE LIVE TV MOVIES AND SOCIAL TELEVISION
Costs me around £6 a month for 11 hours of recording. I programme what I want to watch, download it then watch it when I'm ready - so no buffering! Just finished downloading GBBO and will watch it tonight.
Oh, streaming is free with Filmon , but the time difference means evening programmes in UK are middle of the night here!
Failing that , then there is always torrents - or as others say , use a VPN to spoof being in UK and use iplayer or similar.

This has the effect of disguising your geographic location through the use of an intermediary server, a side effect of which may be that you can access content licensed in other countries.

Caveat: I am not encouraging or condoning you to use the DNS server to illegally access content. Smart DNS servers are perfectly legal in the US; however, the legality of what you use them to access will depend on the copyright specific to that content.

Enjoy
I can do one better than that.

A free VPN plugin for Google Chrome:

Hola Unblocker

I'll throw in something extra, works with Netflix so you can hop between USA/UK/Canada using your UK account/login.

The Great British Bake Off is shown on PBS in the USA, at least in San Diego. They are starting to air this season in September. I think we are a few months behind the UK.

I wish the BBC would allow overseas subscriptions. I would rather give the BBC money instead of the vpn company. Amazon and netflix has some English TV, along with BBC America.

Hi there,
We're just into our new house and I'm trying to get things up and running so I can watch British TV!
I've got Apple TV, my iPad and a tunnel bear subscription.
I can watch stuff on the iPad/phone from BBC iplayer but it won't let me AirPlay it onto the TV. Any idea why?
Thanks!

I made it work!
You just need to mirror what's on your iPad and it'll come up on the TV screen. Just swipe up so you see the toolbar at the bottom, then select Apple TV and activate MIRRORING).
