Re: Google Monopoly

seems simple enough and they have boosted the servers overnight as it was as slow as a hamster yesterday. Its interesting to see the strategy the 'top players are going for. some have hundreds of roads - and nearly every one is sabotaged to provide no rent - OR they have 1 or 2 roads and fill them with buildings so there is no room to place any sabotage. I was just merrily buying up all the roads around my beighbourhood with no real strategy - so will have to think about it a bit!

Yeah, I'm not quite sure what I'm doing. Do you want to add me as a friend, same name as on here, not sure it makes any difference to have friends on it??

I already own a quarter of my town, I only bought 3 streets. Plus I bought my old street in the UK.

Re: Google Monopoly

My old street in the UK but where I live here was open. ADD as I am I will probably forget to log on and lose property in the 7 day rule. That's how I think most of the property sales will happen in a week or so.

Hey I just wanted to post this blog and it answers some questions.

http://blog.monopolycitystreets.com/

It seems that when they have the game running nice and smooth for everyone they are going to reset the whole game. That is going to be the middle of next week maybe.

I already have my strategy planned out.

I started playing and then suddenly got paranoid. I thought probably 99% of people will buy their own road first, so now they have your date of birth, name and street......

I'm just being paranoid right? I sign up to things all the time online with more information than that, so why am I wary of this?

Either I suck or the game does. I have an alert but I can't open it and read the offer. Correction I previously opened it and rejected it but it keeps popping up.

Just saw it was actually rejected.

I've been playing a few days I like it but once you get paid your daily rent, and buy a couple more roads and add some properties you can't really do anything again until the next day, or am I missing something?

That is my experience too.

Well, the good side is that this doesn't cost you hours and hours every day! :p

The only couple of things I can think of is buying lots of smaller streets or several really long ones and get as many buildings on them quickly and get them protected by bonus buildings.

I've got 9 streets and have property on most (I think), but have only had one bonus building so far. I've had 3 hazard buildings to build on opponents streets, and I'm not sure whether to use them on some of the big shot leaders or on local people to me who's streets I might want.

I tried putting those hazard buildings on big players but most already had them or there wasn't any room for them because people had loaded their streets with them.

I suspect some cheating going on somewhere, plus the game is going to be reset soon anyways.

They're resetting now. I'm a bit pissed off that I'll have to start again, I was building up a pretty good little empire :sneaky:

Good!

My start wasn't all that great. I think I figured out how to make money fast: find an expensive street, buy it and fill it with real estate. More expensive streets will give you more rent for the same building than cheaper streets. And don't spread your property all over the map. It seems that owning complete neighbourhoods increases the value of your property.

I wonder if you can have lots of accounts and sell yourself things cheap, maybe that's what the leaders were doing.:sneaky:

There's no maybe about it. That's exactly what the leaders were doing. Hopefully with the reset they'll fix that.

Yeah me too but I was just getting the hang off how to make money fast (without cheating) so now I can start again. Trouble is now I can't bloody log in.
